Battalion S-4: Logistics

Hey guys, I am Kearny High School’s Logistics Officer AKA the S-4, Cadet 1st Lieutenant Meckler. As the logistics officer I ensure we have all the resources we need for any occasion, whether it's an important event, team competition, or just the normal school day. I also manage all the uniform tracking, issuing, and maintenance making sure everyone gets a uniform and returns it when they're done.
I’ve been S-4 for about 3 years now, starting in my sophomore year. I have seen cadets come and go, Old AI’s leave and new AI’s join. And in my JROTC experience I can undoubtedly say that this school year of 2023-2024 will be the most organized and prepared school year we’ve had in a while.
JROTC Career
I've been in this program all 4 years of high school, but I really got into it in my sophomore year. The first thing I did was join the archery team, then regulation, then finally the staff team. I still hung out with the other teams, keeping them company or even practicing with them in my down time. But being in the staff team and especially being S-4 keeps you busy so I haven’t had the time to do much more. For my last year though, I'm planning to do all I can. Archery, Color Guard, Armed Drill Team, Raiders, most all of the teams and events (and not just because i'm required to)
I've missed a lot of opportunities in my ROTC career, some of them I won't get the chance to do again. So the one thing I want to do is to make sure all the other cadets after me can have a better ROTC experience then I did (whether they like it or not)
